----अघरिया में बहुत से परिवारों के बीच जागरूकता के अभाव में वास्तविक गोत्र, जो कि मूलतः
~~~परिवार के रक्त समूह पर आधारित रहा है, का ज्ञान नहीं होने के कारण रक्त प्रतिकूलता की वजह से समाज में अघरिया समाज में सिकल सेल एनीमिया नामक घातक बिमारी के लक्षण पाए जा रहे है।
-----फलस्वरूप वर्तमान समय में सभी अघरिया जनों से आग्रह है कि गोत्र के साथ ही विवाह तय करने के पूर्व वर-वधु के रक्त समूह का परीक्षण अनिवार्य रूप से कराएं ताकि घातक रोग के प्रकोप से भावी पीढ़ी को बचाया जा सके ।
----वर्तमान में अघरिया समाज में सगोत्रीय व विजातीय विवाह पूर्णत प्रतिबंधित है जिसके उल्लंघन पर सामाजिक दंड का प्रावधान है।
